Its friday..thanks God its friday again. When friday(s) arrives they remind of me of those days when I was in Dar-es-salaam. The days when after 4:00pm the telephone lines would be busy like crazy.Everybody is calling everybody, ready to storm out of the office and start roaming the unusual busy streets of the city. Nobody goes home from work on fridays. It all start at work. You could always tell its friday from just the way people dress up.Its all about casual wears. No ties and long sleeves shirts..no lady suits for the ladies. They shine in jeans and simple tops. They look sexy and ready for the big party. I am not sure if they used to carry their purses on fridays. I will investigate from the photos I have.
I miss the great company that I used to get around with.I was still a bachelor anyway and of course lots of things were different. We would start at a nearby Bar..I think it used to be called Georges..oh God we used to love that place! Afterwards we would go north of the city to continue with the weekend celebrations. We could drink our Kilimanjaros and Safaris like such a day will never come again. Roasted meat(nyama choma) was the most famous. Listening to those bolingo and african rhumbas was very fun. Here in Canada they want me to listen to Carribean reggae.I love reggae but to be frank I understand nothing of what these fellas sings about. This music is very popular among black people..and american rap music.
Toronto is also busy on fridays.Unfortunately today it has rained a lot.The TVs and radio stations warns that its a Tornado. Everyone has been busy rushing home..no one wants the tornado to find him/her on the road.Highways are jammed..its not gonna be a usual friday whereby bars and pubs are full by 4pm.You think Canadians do not drink?Think again. They do.One thing that I am noticing in Canada is that a lot of people do not work on fridays..their week ends thursday. I notice very few cars at parking lots on fridays. I wonder how do this country develop if people do not work 7 days a week? Is it just some blessings from above? I wanna make a call to heaven and inquire.
Its summer, crazy summer times.Parties everywhere..Canadians loves BBQ. Its not as tasty as nyama choma from East Africa though. The movie theatres are full of teens right now.Tornado warnings doesn't stop these young men and women. Its like they own the theatres. Malls and movie theatres are two places mostly loved by teens. They can do whatever they want over there. They kiss and....(I am not sure)
Let me not gossip a lot here.Let me see whether my windows are closed. No tornado on my bed.See you later.
Nyama choma, mmhhhhh!!!!!
